Installation

• By downloading / installing PlasmidTools you confirm to have read and accepted the license agreement.
• Users of PlasmidTools are encouraged to donate a small amount to help cover costs.

1. New users must read 'About installation'.
2. Download the installer and unpack (unzip) the file. This should create a directory named 'PlasmidToolsSetup'.
3. Copy or move the 'PlasmidToolsSetup' directory to a removable storage device (USB/memory stick, CD/DVD).
4. Uninstall older versions of PlasmidTools if it is version 2.0.1.0 or older.
5. Open the 'PlasmidToolsSetup' directory on the removable storage device and double-click on 'setup.exe', or if you have administrator privileges, right-click and select 'Run as administrator'.
6. If your computer's NET framework is out of date it will be installed first. The computer will then restart and resume installation.

Security

• The PlasmidTools installer is signed with a digital certificate to ensure its integrity. Any change or manipulation of the installer package after its release will make Windows block installation.
• PlasmidTools files are protected by BitDefender Total Security to ensure a virus-free environment.

Updates

• PlasmidTools Wpf has a menu item to check for updates (Main menu -> Help -> Check for updates). The new version may then be downloaded and installed as descibed above.
